Named after the Dewdney Trail which passed through the area, Trail is located on the banks of the Columbia River 10 km North of the USA border.

 

This affordable, quaint city is the ideal community to settle in, offering exceptional recreational opportunities for both the indoor and out enthusiast.

 

Trail is the technology and research and development hub of the Kootenay Boundary´s employing a large skill based population as well as housing the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, which is the largest diagnostic and acute care facility in the region. Quality health care and education contribute to the appeal of this city to new residents.

 

Trail's population is approximately 7,000 .

The city is also noted for its large Italian community. There are approximately 1,300 people in Trail with Italian ancestry.
